SDIS is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Y7 students, Gurjoth Singh Kang, Banndna Kaur Dulku and Mannesha Kaur Shergill at the Regional round of the World Scholars Cup held in Dubai recently (December 2024).
This is an annual international event designed to assess and challenge students’ overall intellectual prowess in a diverse range of subjects and creative abilities. More than 50,000 students from over 60 countries participate in this event annually.
OUR TEAM CLINCHED 4TH PLACE IN THE JUNIOR DEBATE COMPETITION, where they competed against students from 25 different countries. Their eloquent speaking skills and ability to highlight key points with clarity truly impressed the judges from around the world.
What an incredible feat!!!
Adding on to the above, our champions achievements are as follows:
Mannesha Kaur Shergill – bagged 2 gold and 3 silver medals. Mannesha displayed excellent versatility across all disciplines emerging in the top 7% of all competitors. Well Done Mannesha!
Gurjoth Singh Kang – bagged 2 gold and 2 silver medals plus a trophy for 2nd place in the junior category for being a brilliant orator. Gurjoth was quick-witted and simply outstanding throughout the debates. Well done Gurjoth!
Banndna Kaur Dulku – bagged a total of 3 gold medals and 1 silver. Banndna displayed outstanding writing proficiency throughout the competition. She also captivated the audience with her riveting bagpipe performance upholding the legacy of our school. Well Done Banndna!
In fact, all our students were crowd favorites with their winning personalities, language command and versatility across the board. Their resounding win now moves them to the finals – World Rounds (Tournament of Champions) which will be held at Yale University, USA in November this year.
This is a moment of immense pride for us.
