No Apologies Workshop

On 6th July, Year 10 students partook in the No Apologies Workshop. Despite being an online workshop, our coordinators, Ms Dorothy and Ms Agnes, created a fun-filled learning experience for us. The workshop endowed young people with vital skills to make intelligent choices everyday

We were enlightened on the numerous challenges faced by present-day youth; the  concepts surrounding self worth and creation of boundaries were revealed to us. Some of the resonating take-away pointers are:

  • Love and respect ourselves
  • Adapt quickly to changing situations
  • Say ‘NO’ assertively

Nowadays, social media profoundly influences our lives so this session aptly introduced us to the practice of media discernment. Most notably, we can now consciously set boundaries to maintain healthy relationships which in turn would enable us to elect incisively when faced with personal choices.

Although we easily recognised permissible actions versus unacceptable conduct, the rug was pulled from under our feet when the coordinators shared the statistics related to risky practices amongst teens.

No Apologies workshop – a brilliantly beneficial session which has lent us the opportunity to freely discuss a delicate subject on a professionally-moderated platform.
