KUALA LUMPUR: The Leader in Me programme launched at Sri Dasmesh School aims to develop leadership potential in primary schoolchildren.

Sri Dasmesh principal Jaswinder Kaur said the programme was aimed at helping students to take charge of their lives first before helping others and ultimately developing an interdependence culture.

Also present at the launch were Franklin Covey Malaysia chief executive officer V. S. Pandian and Sri Dasmesh School chairman Tan Sri Ajit Singh as well as parents.

STUDENTS of Sekolah Sri Dasmesh, Kuala Lumpur entertained a 1500-strong crowd of teachers, parents and guests at Universiti Malaya’s (UM) Dewan Tunku Canselor in a concert held in conjunction with the school’s 10th anniversary recently.

The event featured musical performances and four plays – Alice in Wonderland, Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves, The Malacca Sultanate and The King & I – as well as awards for the school’s outstanding students.

KUALA LUMPUR: Top scorer Kaveena Maniam from Sek Sri Dasmesh is not the usual bookworm.

She scores a first in everything; sports, studies, leadership and social service.

Kaveena scored As in every subject she sat for in last year's SPM examinations.

As students and teachers studied her results' slip last Thursday, they shook their heads in amazement -- Kaveena scored 14A+ and an 1A for her 1119 paper.

"You just don't expect anything less from Kaveena," school principal Jaswinder Kaur said.

"She is capable of anything. She has drive, commitment, loyalty and gives naturally to all who know her."
