16 year old Young Ambassadors reaching out through ‘Raise Your Spirits’ Workshop

‘This is easy!... Kok Seng & Kok Cheong from the Pure Life Society figuring out their first taskThe event –  a charity workshop for students as  a community service program , completely thought out and organized  by the students from Sri Dasmesh.  42 teenagers with ages ranging from 13 to 17 years, from the Pure Life Society and the Gurpuri Home attended the workshop.

The event kicked off at 10.00 a.m. with an exciting team building activity called ‘Puzzle Maze’ to divide the students into groups. This was followed by interactive workshops and life changing stories by the invited panel of speakers,   Mr. NJ Singam, from Napoleon Hill Associates,  Mr. Anant Kasibathla, the memory wizard and award winner, and Mr Harvinder Singh CEO of In-Control Tech.

Topics shared included discussions on the Law of Attraction, Memory Skills and Goal Setting. Real life situations were shared and students participated actively in the discussions.

After a hearty meal of pizza, soft drinks and a variety of snacks, activities continued into the afternoon, ending with futsall and netball.

Dalip Singh and Kaveena Maniam, the ambassadors of the workshop spoke about their  objective in organizing this event,  “We are very fortunate to have had opportunities over the years to attend many life changing workshops and we wanted to contribute something back to others who may not have had such opportunities to review their lifestyles and change them.’

‘This is no ordinary workshop where everyone feels temporarily excited and goes home.. This is a life changing platform for students to discover their purpose in life. ‘ says Dalip while Kaveena adds ‘we are indeed so busy with our own lives that we seldom think of others. Service is actually the rent we pay to occupy our space here on earth’

The event opened many hearts and minds and students exchanged e-mails to continue reaching out to one another. Discussions are ongoing between the school and the homes to ‘adopt’ the homes for a year and continue working together in ‘raising their spirits’.

Yes! we’re going to win…pass on the final piece , says Preetpal from Gurpuri while completing their ice breaker activity.
